James Ray Walks the Walk and Talks the Talk
Written by Joan maresh Hansen
Most of us are familiar with the phrase that when the student is ready the teacher shows up. This I believe happens over and over again as we grow in our awareness of deeper understandings of whatever it is we focus on.
Last evening in Houston, James Ray, one of the teachers of the movie The Secret spoke to a crowd of 600 hungry people. Hungry for new answers, new insights and new ideas that would catapult their lives to new levels of living.
James asked the crowd why they came, one person answered because he wanted to be motivated. James Ray said that motivation comes from the outside and the inspiration which he will provide comes from the inside.”It is not what we do but how we do it,” he said. He continued, “life is an internal game.” He spoke of what he has learned and is considered to be an expert in the law of attraction. He said that he knows what he is talking about as he lived these experiences going from the top of a great life to the bottom with nothing-losing everything. He shared with us the development of what he calls “The Science of Success”( an available CD series) which provide strategies to get whatever you want and to also sustain them. He went on to say that the word inspiration comes from the words “in spirit.” He added that it is important to pay attention to our emotions and to work to recognize what moves us emotionally.
I particularly enjoyed how he shared with us from the time he was a “nerd” in high school he read ferociously about science, quantum physics and the spiritual laws. He talked about multiple world theory which is the idea that 11 dimensions exist simultaneously and one of them has us being multimillionaires.(isn’t this Abraham’s vibrational escrow?) He then added that everything is energy and energy can never be destroyed. He shared the works of Carl Pedram, Nobel Prize winner and neurosurgeon who writes that “there is nothing outside of you that isn’t inside of you.”
He talked about resonance and the idea that one cannot perceive anything that you cannot resonate with. He wanted to shatter rumors and coach us on what he called,” going three for three” with thoughts, feelings, and actions all firing at the same time.
He next talked about “living from the outcome” making decisions based upon where you are going vs. where you are. If for an example you want to lose weight, before you eat that cookie, you ask what would a person with an ideal body do? Then you must do it. If you want to experience more prosperity in your life, before you spend money on something frivolous, you ask what would a person who is financially sound would do, then you must do that. He shared the quote,” you will only become as rich as the amount of debt that you can sustain.”He added that so many of us barely scratch the surface of our potential. He wanted to become an example to the world.
My next favorite part was how he talked about Einstein’s idea of time as an illusion. He drew a straight line on a chart with an arrow at each end pointing to the right and left. On the left he said is where we place the past, on the right arrow is where we place the future, and in the center is where we place now. Then he drew a spiral spinning over the whole chart and said this is how time really is. We are expanding and isn’t it true that in this spiral more content can be held? We are expanding beings. The law of expansion allows us to get big enough to encompass more. As each of us become more, we encompass more.
Then some work began: he asked us to look at any area of our life where we deserve more. He said that deep inside each of us we know that life was not meant to be a struggle. If we are not living joyously and abundantly in all areas of our life, we are unplugged from Source. Further if you are not growing—you are dying. He asked if we were ready to grow and do something radically different.
He then shared the content from his new book entitled, “Harmonic Wealth” as well as attempting to enroll us in signing up for his offerings in his Harmonic Wealth weekends. He said that wealth translates to “well being.” His work is about assisting each of us in living in a state of harmony and well being. If you don’t have what you want—you have limiting beliefs. His analogy was that if you can consider that when you minimize a program on your computer, although you no longer see it. It is still running. This is how unresolved emotional issues can run our life. By releasing these issues we can be set free to heal, love, and empower ourselves.
Next, he showed us what he calls the five pillars of harmonic wealth.
They include;
•
Relationship-to ourselves, others and the world,
•
Physical-which includes our body, and our physical belongings (our homes, cars, trips we take)
•
Mental-which deals with our MIND, intellect and emotions.
•
What are we reading and listening to each day?” All leaders are readers” he added.
•
Financial-has to do with money, and
•
Spiritual- which is harder to define and involves each of our one-on-one connections to Source and the understanding that we are connected to something greater than ourselves.
He ended the evening quoting Carl Jung with” When an unconscious issue is not made conscious it shows up outside of us as fate.”
It was nice sharing the evening with James Ray, four of my friends and 600 other like minded people who are on this shared path of spiritual growth and expansion.
I appreciate James Ray for sharing with us how he turned his life around from financial ruin in 2000 to making multimillion dollars today. Ten times what he had in his previous successes. He said,” that what one person can do, all can do.” The evening serves to reinforce that James, like many others, in similar seminars and the latest books reinforce what I believe to be true. There are spiritual laws and when one lives by them, like a mathematical certainty the outcome will be the same.
I have been inspired to read his newest book, ”Harmonic Wealth”
Bless the Downer Days for the Gifts They Give Us
By Joan Maresh Hansen
How many times have you had one of those days where nothing seems to be going right? As long as we live on this earth we will have days that go just as we desire and the opposite where everything seems to happen in a less desirable manner. Remember this you are having what Lynn Grabhorn talks of in her book,”Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting.” that which she calls a negative energy orgy. It is simply you closing yourself off to the energy of your higher self. The valve is closed—shut tight— and you are not feeling the positive energy of this incredible Universal Power or God Source. The positive flow of this “feel good “ source of good stuff is shut off. It is also what Abraham calls the CONTRAST in life or more specifically some of what we do not want in our life. This— we eventually learn is what leads us to discover that which we do want. From being smack dog in the middle of what we do not want, a “rocket of desire “ is launched for our new desires. We can also get to a place eventually where we can bless these bad times which gave us a gift by showing us the clarity to know what we really do want in our lives.
Although you feel really lousy—you have been here before and it is no big deal, you must allow yourself to have this kind of “ down in the dumps” day. Really go on and have it. Give yourself permission to experience and to feel all the negative icky sensations so that nothing gets stuffed down inside your self.
Now, on the other hand if you want to escape these vibrational gloomies, then one easy way to do that is to allow your eyes to look at the smallest, most insignificant thing you can find to jump start your physical smile. Reach down inside yourself and feel the feelings of that little thing that forces you to smile.
Maybe it is an animal looking at you and loving you, or a plant in your garden, or the sunshine pouring in your window, or your favorite old ragged chair in your favorite reading corner, or maybe it is the book you are reading. Feel and flood feelings of appreciation to it for just being in your life. Wrap it in love as if it were the greatest treasure of your entire life which was lost and has now been found.
If this doesn’t do the trick then put on your favorite dance music and begin dancing around the house. Sing some silly song like,” Happy Days are Here Again,”( even though you would rather be in your chair crying). As they say, “fake it till you make it.” You will be amazed at how quickly your mood can change for the better. Another course of action is to change the scenery and take a walk— nature can do wonders to cure what ails you. And one additional strategy is to give yourself a positive little self-talk, “ Don’t worry things will get better, You will be feeling better soon. Life gives you the downs so you can more fully appreciate the ups.”
The bottom line is take one small gentle loving step at a time when you are feeling down. Give yourself a little here and a little there. It may take a couple of hours or a couple of days and eventually you will feel the resistance lessening and a “click” where the valve to that “feel good “ connection is open and flowing back again into you. You are again turned on to the infinite possibilities of life. Remember that life offers opposites and it is in these paradoxes that we are given a better understanding of the things we truly want in our life. Sometimes we are led to a less than pleasant experience to first wallow in before the light shines on things we love.
Gabrielle Roth says it beautifully in the following excerpt:
“When we experience moments of ecstasy—
in play, in art, in sex—they come not as
an exception, an accident, but as a taste of what
life is meant to be…Ecstacy is an idea, a goal,
but it can be the expectation of every day,
Those times when we are grounded in our body,
pure in our heart, clear in our mind, rooted
in our soul, and suffused with the energy,
the spirit of life, are our birthright.
It’s really not that hard to stop and luxuriate
in the joy and wonder of our being,
Children do it all the time.
It’s a natural human gift that should be
at the heart of our lives.”
No matter how lousy you are feeling, remember that we always have a choice. So turn on the flow of “feel good “ by finding one tiny thing that has you begin to feel a little bit better.
